What is your role at Fusion5?
I joined Fusion5 as an Office Administrator supporting the Wellington office, and quickly moved into a Human Resource Administrator role. My ‘day to day’ deals with Recruitment - I have contact with applicants from the beginning of the recruitment journey all the way to my favourite part – onboarding them. In addition, I coordinate and support Fusion5’s Learning & Development Program and manage Health and Safety across our New Zealand and Australian offices.
What attracted you to Fusion5?
I really liked the energy here, everyone is so enthusiastic about getting stuff done – and I really like that! We are always looking at ways we can do things smarter and more seamlessly. I love implementing new systems and processes which has a flow on effect in helping everyone in their day to day roles and making their jobs easier!
What are you working on?
Currently I am working on a paperless onboarding for our new joiners. Our induction booklet used to be a big wad of paper in a folder - not sure how many trees were used each time we printed this! Now our new joiners are delivered information that is time released from the moment they sign up to their 6-month anniversary with us. A perfect example of working smarter and using technology to support our onboarding journey.
What makes a ‘good day’?
Seeing people happy and their passion and commitment working for Fusion5! When I can see the improvements that have been made in processes, new systems are making a difference, things are running smoothly and people are able to get on with their jobs - it means we are doing things right.
What are you famous for?
I have been known to take down a few of the boys around the office in Mario Kart – a little secret talent there.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I try to get to the gym most lunch breaks, but I mostly love doing walks around the Wellington area – it’s nice to feel like you have got out of the city for a while.
