We are seeking a vibrant, enthusiastic and highly experienced Programme Manager to join our Professional Services team in Auckland. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of success in delivering both projects and programs. This is a rare opportunity to play a major role in contributing to the expansion of an extremely successful, growing business solutions company.

As a member of Fusion5’s Professional Services team you will be working with a network of incredibly capable Project Management professionals. Your role will be a combination of managing programmes across multiple business units or pillars, managing one or two projects directly, and acting as a Senior Supplier on projects. You will also be linked in to our PMO and will assist to identify and implement ongoing process improvement in our methodology and delivery.

What you will be responsible for:

  • programme management, planning and strategy with large enterprise clients
  • acting as Senior Supplier, building relationships and acting as an escalation point, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action where required
  • working with clients and Fusion5 project managers to define the programme's governance arrangements
  • ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical and specialist standards
  • managing the programme's budget in conjunction with Fusion5 Project Managers, monitoring risk, issues, expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses
  • ensuring programme  delivery of projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements
  • Ensuring projects are adhering to the FOCUS methodology and PMO guidelines
  • ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects
  • managing third party contributions to the programme
  • managing communications with  stakeholders, especially at senior levels
  • managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
  • managing risks to the programme's successful outcome
  • working with the business Organisational Change Manager or equivalent on the transition to the new business as usual position
  • initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise
  • Facilitating internal steering committee meetings for each programme to support communication of programme status to Fusion5 PMO and executive team.

The programme manager should have:

  • effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • the ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams
  • good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
  • sound business case development and approvals skills
  • good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
  • good knowledge of programme and project management methods including MSP and PRINCE2
  •  strong commercial acumen, along with experience with budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme
  • the ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
  • Effective negotiation techniques that result in win/win outcomes.
